Anyone catch the southerlies today?

Post by Bulldog » Wed Feb 21, 2007 8:53 pm

Hey did anyone hit the coast (HMB, Bodega) for some of those southerlies today? The graphs looked pretty smooth and not much rain. The forecast makes it seem like most of the wind with this storm was pre-frontal; not much in the works for clearing wind.

Did Alameda blow?

It says 10M, but it's really a 9.

Forgot to check Charlie's blog first. Sounds like him and Yuri had the whole place to themselves.

Oh yeah, I got 4 solid hours in and it was really quite nice wind. I was kinda bummed more didnt come out to enjoy it. And Charlie, why did you call it quits so quickly? I thought maybe you were grabbing a bigger kite or something.

I dont know what a lazyboy loop is but that sounds like an appropriate name for them. I call them girly loops, or Ollie wannabee loops, or if I was gay I might call them fruitloops. Working on it. Although I did get struck with some light yesterday with the whole loop thing and commiting. I realized it cant be worse landing a loop where the kite is still facing sideways when you land. But psychologically my brain will not let me pull the trigger when it is blowing enough to yank. Plus the bar pressure on that 12TD is nuts, especially when your tired and numb.

The windcam shows some whitecaps but no kiters.

Get out there Dave, so the rest of us can decide if it's worth the drive!

Hmmmm. Kiting today, powder tomorrow sounds really good...
