Somebody broke into my garage

Post by goobe » Sun Dec 17, 2006 2:26 pm

I just woke up this morning to discover that three of my caution kites and harness had been stolen. If you see anybody trying to sell a blue 16m or a yellow 8m or 12m with black stripes, or a red dakine harness with a pivoting spreader bar, please not only do not buy it, but let me know so I can go tap on somebody's skull.

I figure we have a very tight kiteboarding community in the bay area and not much kiteboarding for hundreds of miles, so these kites are bound to turn up sooner or later. Thanks everybody!

Yes, that is one thing that is great about our kiting community. As you say, it will have to turn up eventually. It's unfortunate that if found the people who do this walk away with a slap on the wrist. If it were up to me there would be more arm chopping than wrist slaps. Anyways, we will keep an eye out for you.

I completely agree with you about the arm chopping.

Check eBay and Craigslist. Likely not kiters so check the other venues for selling stuff.

Consider another classic! Perhaps a stockade with locking wrist and neck shackles at a typically windy location on a hot, searing afternoon with zero wind and a beer shortage?

If you're lucky you can employ detective Josha who recoved his board by sniffing out the culprit via craigs list. Kiting community is on the job! I'll definitely keep an eye out.
