zip pockets for keys. a color other than white so when you sit down your butt doesn't turn brown. Oh, and I'm personally a HUGE fan of the seamless boardshorts that the surf companies are making. They have welded seams, so they don't chafe.

a waterproof zip pocket would rock as "hiding" keys is a common problem for most kiters I talk to.

I'd love to have board shorts that were shorts but also had a kind of 'biker short' underneath so that if/when the shorts ride up you have the tighter under part holding on tight. Some may not like this but I'd love it.

Color and length seems to always be a problem for me in choosing board shorts. The colors have to work well together or be all solid in order for me to like it. Also they should be knee length (to cover knee or in the middle of it) as many are too short and that's no good.

I hope this helps.

-Bobby

Ah.....Finally I can post!!!

I emailed this suggestion to Promotion via their website already but will repeat it here. i would love to see shorts that can go OVER my seat harness but allow my spreader bar/pad to be on the outside. This will allow me to use my current harness and numerous pairs of shorts. I suggest that there be 2 openings that are velcro'd at the ends of the bar position.

The above suggestions are also excellent.

Thanks for asking for the input Derek!

lol...

I use a camelback to carry my liquid of choice with me out on the water.

works great and makes for longer sessions!

Bobby, I have never had a key rust out there. If you just rinse it off it will be fine. I thought this would be a problem too and even thought of making stainless key blanks but over the last 4 years nothing on the key worth speaking of. So waterproof is not really neccessary but a key pouch, zipper, and safety line are definately a must.

Similar to my wetsuit comment, it would be great if the materials ddint stick like glue between the wetsuit and shorts. This not only makes them hard as hell to get on but it also tears the shorts when they are put in awkward positions as they don't move.

And back to the wetsuit comment again-I am not sure if this would fly in the community but an ipod holder would be awesome-inlcuding a strap to winch the extra headphone slack.

make em longer than regular boardshorts because when you put your seat harness on it makes the shorts ride up.

Waterproof key pockets would still be nice for keys with security chips.
