So, here's the deal, I don't have a lot of money, but I want to go on a kite trip. And I know brazil or venezuela or vietnam would be really cool, but, like i said, i'm poor, so those are a tad out of my price range.
Where is the cheapest place to kite this winter? I think i've narrowed it down to 3 options, and i would love a bit of input.
1. SPI. you can rent a beach house for $600 for a week that sleeps 6. combine that with a $400 flight and a rental car (or two) and htat's around $600 for the week.
2. la ventana, baja. Some cheaper accomodations in the $40 per person range, flights to SJD in the $400 range, but travel from SJD to la ventana seems difficult?
3. los barilles, baja. Some cheaper accomodations in the $60 per person range, flights to SJD in the $400 range.
among those options, can anyone tell me what the wind is like in SPI in mid december? according to ikitesurf it sure seems pretty good. is there any interest in sharing a beachfront condo to cut down on cost? any caveats to SPI?
as for baja, i know the wind can be hit or miss, but is there a way to bring the price of housing down? have people rented condos in los barilles before? i've heard conflicting reports of waves.... is there wave kiting in baja or not?
really cheap place to kite this winter in mid december

los barrilles and la ventana have camp grounds right on the beach - in la ventana last year was about $7- a night...los barriles I was at a friends house...waves - when i was at los barriles the break came to about my waist (i am 5'6") - but the break was not like an ocean break, no wave riding.
