kitefilm.com via kiteforum.com wrote: Here's a video of Mark Shinn, filmed in Tenerife August 2005.
Mark is using the Crossbow 12 in around 30 knots wind.
And getting some good jumps and nice waves.
As you can imagine this is from one of our upcoming
films..................................say no more

Thus the text in the Flysurfer manual that says "If lofted, try to stay calm. Your foil kite is in effect a very small paraglider."

I've heard it doesn't take much. Cruise down a slope, send the kite a little bit and glide.....

Did you catch the spot at around 1:10 where the guy drops into a gully and gets sideways flying through it? Reminded me of star wars or something.

I watched that part twice because I thought I must have been hallucinating. I was also shocked at how close they came to each other while flying.

I think Ollie's right, you don't need it to be windy, you just get up to speed and then launch off something and voila, you've made your own wind. I'm still wondering how you stop, though. It seemed like the video skipped that part.
