sizing on surf foot straps?

Post by kalyp » Sun Jun 17, 2012 11:58 am

Size 14 feet + 3 mm booties, the cabrinha foot straps are too small and even an older NSI symmetrical strap is too.

Are there any larger foot straps out there? would something like the mystic adjustable foot straps be large enough? looks like the only ones out there to be adjustable and for surfboard.

Thanks!

why not just use normal footstraps and ditch the pads?

Don't buy the mystic ones... they suck. IMO

Dakine makes an "on-the-fly" adjustable strap that I've heard great things about... not sure about your Ronald McDonald sized feet. Maybe you need to ask Lebron James about it.

Thanks - I'll take a look at the Dakine straps. What the problem with the Mystic straps?

As for getting rid of the pads, their already pretty thin - wouldn't make much of a difference.
This is on a Cabrinha Trigger.

Anybody use (or make) something like 1/2" lift blocks to mount between the strap and the board?

Yep. NSI proton or the ratchet adjustable version should work fine. They go pretty big.

Thanks - I'll give NSI a call to check with them on all their sizing.

I appreciate the help - kind of a pain trying to get up and ride while I can barely jam my feet in the straps. I guess the goal here is to get good fast enough so that I can go strapless :)

They are only 2" thick, and don't have much adjustment. No on the fly adjusting either. The ratchet straps are coming on strong and are much bigger.

I've been looking for the stock slingshot straps that came with my board (was kicked down some by Kirk but they were an older model). You can't buy straps from slingshot directly for some reason....

Kalyp if you're ready for a surfboard then you're ready for strapless bro - I think it is so much easier than strapped ... just get out there and give it a shot!
