Not seeing too much action on the webcam yet, but hard to tell without sun and shadows...looks cold though!

I guess that was Alameda ports. Ya the Alameda one is a little low.

Half moon bay is nuking though. Typically a good indication of what's to come but I will stay warm until it gets closer.

I'm not real sure Alameda is going to make it up to speed today. Usually the high cirrus a day or two before indicate wind at Alameda and we didn't get that.

But, the south winds are strange so it could do it today.

Alameda Webcam?

Post by wesmatson » Sun Dec 02, 2007 4:12 pm

Could someone please provide me with the url to the Alameda webcam.

One other question - Are there kite launch areas at Berkeley Marina or Point Isabel? This looks like it had the best wind today, but I have not been there before & didn't make the trip because I wasn't sure if there was a place to launch kites.

Thanks

Pt. Emery (Berkeley) usually isn't the best for South wind days are better for somewhat SW, W, and WSW. Marina Bay just up from Pt. Isabel is OK for South wind days, but then it's pretty much onshore.

Alameda was nice and gusty today, sorry for those who didnt make it out. I just want to know if there is a secret for keeping water out of your booties. My feet get the coldest and numbest by far only because water is dumping in them constantly. Any input on that? I'll wear socks if that works.

Yuri, just to make sure, do you have booties that are full booties and come up your ankle, like a boot? If so, roll the bottom of your wetsuit over the top of your bootie, and that should make a decent seal. That's what I do scuba diving, and it stops the water from flushing.

I needed that! It was great seeing the usual faces and the Sherman Crew, too!
