Yuri, just leave'em pumped up. That's what I do. I think I had to add air to my Vegas struts about once every 5 sessions or so. And even then, it would be like one or two, not all at the same time.

Yeah, yeah there's some good reason why you shouldn't do this. But I don't care.

I figure next year my TD will be so old school not even the homeless guy will want the material to keep him dry. So based on this i was thinking of using an old bike lock and just locking the kite to the bathrooms accross the street. So if the windcam is ever aimed at the bathrooms and you dont see a kite, it got stolen!

We all love you for it though. With LMG leaving town the beach will be way too quiet without LMC there.

back to your question

Back to the original post......not that hot air is not amusing, this time of the year all moving air is of interest.....almost.........the Rhino is NOT a kite that intermediates will find optimal.

It's a high performance kite, meaning you will can get quite spanked if you are not at the top of your game. It delivers the goods if you are pushing the limits of skills: jumping, unhooked. If you are just learning how to jump well/do freestyle, there are better choices. Not optimal for waves.

There are few people that I know who are solid enough with skills to ride this kite and get out of it what it is able to deliver......this is not a "elitist" point of view.....just one guys opinion.

I'd compare it to cars. The Rhino is a Porsche - high end, if you know how to drive well, it will reward you....if you are just a competent cruiser, you may better served by a BWM (Vegas), or a Lexus (Rebel). I would not want a 16 year old who just learned how to drive to get behind the wheel of a Porsche, you know what I mean???

Good wind + waves, Zeev.

PS - I ride Vegas kites, and have added Rebels for z waves. I'll do a write up on the Rebel and the 2006 bars once I get a bit more time on them.......

The Porsche comparison is probably even more apt in that lots of intermediate kiters will buy the Rhino because they think that riding it will instantly make them a better kiter (or at least make people seeing them pump it up on the beach think they are). And all the Zs in the world telling people they are better off with a mellower kite will only increase their determination to buy it.

You sure you're not doing some guerilla marketing for North, Z?
