Yesterday at scotts

Post by drroc » Wed Oct 22, 2014 12:07 pm

I went out yesterday for about 45 mins to Scotts. I am usually good for 2hr, but Scotts was extra special yesterday with double overhead waves.
1080p widescreen on GoPro definitely is makes things distorted. I went for a helmet mount as opposed to a camrig, because I didn't want to deal with any potential line tangles in case the kite went for a swim. Also the stupid camera moved, and I ended up getting a lot of shots of my feet... I got only a single decent shot of largish wave.

I saw a few others with GoPros, so hopefully people will post their videos.

That looks great. Did you take these shots at the break where the waves break to the right? Any video? :)

Looks like there might be a repeat on Sunday albeit with smaller waves.

drroc: yes this is outside and at the right side break.
Yojimbo: that's a full carbon 6'0 16''' gun indeed that I use on big days.

So this is not a mass produced board/shape available for kiting. I don't think I've ever seen anyone ride anything like this kitesurfing before. I know naish was selling a gun type board at one point. That looks like the Caution logo on that board. Are we looking at an experimental/concept board in these photos? That thing looks positively evil, like it could impale anyone foolish enough who tried to steal your wave.

Yojimbo: It is actually a 2012 Naish Custom Full Carbon Gun...
Liked you comment about impaling a snake ;-)
