A great adventure that's sure to be done again. Conditions were a bit hairy, but who doesn't like a good ole survival session from time to time...?

What kind of safety gear did you bring with you/did you have boat support?

Pure awesomeness. The captain must be very tired at the end though, 'cause he fell a lot.

Re: Bay Crossing: Treasure Island-3rd Ave
No problem at getting through the bridge, the wind was fine. Things got more intense as I approached and passed Candlestick Point. I want to do it again but in lighter conditions.
I left the boat on the dock, so I just had myself, my board and kite for support.
I had a cell phone and radio, dry clothes, food and water.
I'll have to add this downwinder route in the offerings, next to Golden Gate Downwinder...! Anyone interested let me know and we can put together a expedition... with boat support.

I just noticed you did this on "Big Monday"! I guess you guaranteed wind the while way, but wow on a race board.

Re: Bay Crossing: Treasure Island-3rd Ave
I wanted all the assurance that I could go the distance. Long fins and a scooped nose are great when the goal is long distance. I wanted to take longer reaches back and forth, but it was so intense that the focus was solely to make to 3rd beach.
Riding on a broad reach, other boards would be pretty easy to hold course with, and boostEEE on a twin tip for sure!
