So there you go, we've all got theories, but no one knows anything for sure. We could probably do without this. I appreciate that SS put on a nice demo, BBQ and put out the slider, but this kind of sucks.

Maybe we should add a note to that sign at the launch spot to warn people until somebody has found the slider. Not everybody is reading this forum.

And while we're talking about hazards at SI: On the far left side of the kite beach and something like 30 feet near the beach there must be a broken glass bottle(?) in the water. I got injured but thanks God I was wearing booties and therefore the wound wasn't very deep. Somebody else wasn't that lucky. I'll try again to find that bottle or whatever it is this weekend.

Yes, Bob S. got 10 stitches or so and he mentioned that on a low tide some of the guys went out and recovered some glass, but there could still be some out there.

Since then I've taken to going out only a few steps into the water and dragging out a ways to avoid the risk altogether.

So far no signs of the slider and thus no incidents invloving it. It is truly MIA.

It was 16, and kept me out a couple weeks. You have the location correct. I heard Billy went out there on a low tide, and picked up a bunch of loose glass. Get your board on quick!

I picked up a couple pieces of green glass a couple days ago on a low tide. Yes, get your board on quick or drag out a bit.

i got a gash about two weeks ago, but even yesterday marlys picked some glass up in her foot. How did glass get there in the first place? i hoipe it wasnt a kiter or windsurfer..... but who else would it be?

Fishermen from who knows when. There was a time when there were no kiters there and that beach was small and access was through a lone path. I imagine bottles gto thrown out there and glass can be hidden in the sand for some time before the tidal actions that buried it finally allow it to resurface. A plausible theory, no?

I think it's fishermen to. They come mid week and hide in the bushes and the trees with their lines 60 yards out. Early in the season I would get caught in the lines while launching. Watch out for hooks too. I've seen them get a snag and just cut the lines leaving the lines and hooks in the water.
