Easy now BD, nobody said all wave-riding had to be done in freezing, massive, NorCal crushers to be worthy. Sometimes peeling, down-the-line lefts look pretty good-- for hundreds of yards no less! Some of those off-the-lips were not for the faint of heart, eh?

I have no influence on the weather, just wait. Soon come, mon.

Meanwhile, this just in: Martin Vari won this Chilean PKRA wave-event on the new North Rebel. (I know, I know, it ain't the gear 'ferchrisakes but it's still interesting to the wave guys.)

Seen this one? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AcrasgKiD7M

About halfway through, one guy blows a frontroll out of the front of the tube. Awesome.

I always wanted to see a kite video with this song as the soundtrack (2nd song, "Go with the Flow", Queens of the Stone Age).

Actually Chile`s weather pattern is really similar to ours in NorCal, it`s freakin cold, wetsuit mandatory.Awesome video, insane waves.

I think he just borrowed several kite models from friends and won on a Rebel. Nothing official about sponsorship I don't believe, but this is all hearsay from reports I've read on the event.

That would be good for the North team and would make sense because there aren`t too many more major brand left that he hasn`t ridden for already.
I like how he takes a year off kiting and comes back and wins this wave contest.
Why was that contest in One Eye ever documented? I heard it was mental too.
