Remember, you didn't have to sign up for the entire Cabrinha Race Series to participate; "drop in are welcome. August 16th completes the "mini series #2" with "mini series #3 starting August 23. The mini series is a series of 4 race nights with a one night throw out. Awards for the top three are provided at the yacht club on the last night of each mini series....currently Jeff Kafka (Cabrinha) and Anthony Chavez (Naish) are battling it out for the top spot in mini series #2. Kafka won mini series #1

Alright this may sound weird but do you have to have a cabrinha kite to compete in the competition? How much does it cost to race?

Downhiller:
No..for example, only one of the five guys (photo above) flies a Cabrinha..the first guy. so come on out and join the fun and experience.

Go to www.stfyc.com....click on the "on the water" pull down menu..click racing, click on any Cabrinha Race Series and then documents...everything you need to know should be in there. also, because there are only 2 races left, they are waiving the jersey fee if you promise to return it after the race.
You can also register on line, or at the race office after 3;00pm on race day.
Had 4-5 first timers there for the races on 8/30 and they all had a great time!

Kudos to Steve and everyone who put on the St. Francis Yacht club event Saturday. Gomes did some great announcements. It was good to see most people show and celebrate a great season of racing. I was very impressed with all the prizes for top 10. What about a little recognition for the top female finishers however? That seems to go to Gail for the most finishes, congrats!

Eric:
Thank you! Cabrinha and I are proud to be part of this great event! As I sd Sat night; The Cabrinha Race Series hosted by the St Francis Yacht Club is probably the premier event of its kind anywhere in the world. It set the stage for the US Nationals, Kiteboarding being recognized by the US Sailing Assoc and the International Sailing Federation and the possible 2008 Worlds.

Awards: The St Francis stepped it up a notch and provided great Cabrinha Race Series windbreakers with the St. Francis logo to the top 10 finishers, Ozone Travel provided 10 nights in Brazil and 4 nights in the DR, and Cabrinha provided plaques, the new Revolution Wave Kite, Cabrinha Empire kite snowboard and Cabrinha Effect bindings, along with wheeled travel gear bags, back packs, tool bags and carry ons

Top Female: I agree with you...the "unofficial top female" was Gail Zaccai as she participated more than twice as many nights than any other and as you well know, was very competitive....especially since she started using her new Cabrinha XB3s :-)...and she was awarded a 2007 Cabrinha Race Series Cup. Thanks also go out to Sandy Parker and Kathy Smith who also participated on more than one evening. I hope that these three with compete for the entire series in '08 and convince a few more women to join them

Special Thanks: Jim K and John G who were there behind the scene every race night doing something...they also received an 2007 Cabrinha Race Cup. And there were more...like Paul B and Joe C..Thanks Again..and THANKS to all the competitors who make this event such a success!!!!

Already planning to make 2008 even better..if you have any ideas..pls let me know
steve
