Check out the new Slingshot Gear!

Shay and Dave from Slingshot Kiteboarding will be making their rounds to many of the Bay Area spots to show and demo new gear from Slingshot. They've got some new kites and boards inclusing the new Hybrid, the Rev and the new Ruben Pro board. I flew the Rev recently during a quick session in very marginal conditions at Crissy and am looking forward to more time on it as things are looking good for this kite. It is very smooth, turns fast with good low end and a super-simple 4-line bar and safety system.

Try one yourself to see, but here's some of what others have to say about the Rev so far:

"The new 08 kites are so different it's unreal... the Rev has the Stablity of the Turbo 2 and turns faster then the Fuel and the new center line safety system is just sooo easy to use and works every time..."

"The REV is such a sweet kite, i myself fly Fuels and was really blown away by the preformance that the REV has. What more can you want this is Fuel with massive depower! i think you will find some guys/chicks changing from Fuels to use this kite."

"I did get to fly the REV for a short time yesterday. Not nearly long enough for a review, but it obviously turns very fast, has light bar pressure, and brings the leash attachment down below the bar which is nice. So, if you're looking for a fast light pressure kite, this one may be worth a look."

Keep an eye out for the Slingshot van, we'll be posting location updates here.

I was asked, since all of slingshot's kites are named after something automotive in nature, what part of the car is the slingshot?

Maybe its the car itself, the Dodge SlingShot?

The wind wasn't super strong at 3rd today, but I got a chance to fly the new Rev 11m longer and in better conditions than at Crissy a few days ago, and I also got to try the new Ruben Pro model SS board. Well, the kite is aptly named Rev, as it's smooth, stable and fast. The board is very, very nice.

Try them both if you can, the demos will be going for another week through next Monday at various locations throughout the bay and coast.

I rode the Rev 11 when the wind got light on Friday and it seemed to have similar power as my Fuel 13. Also, this is the first bridal kite I tried which did not have the spongy feel to the bar. I was on the Fuel 15 yesterday most were out on the Rev 11 and they did not seemed to do any worse than me on the Fuel 15. I will no more once I can demo the Rev 13 since that will be my bread and butter kite at 3rd.
