Snacks ,just buy another tube. The name of the game is kiteboarding, not dealing with your pump.

Compressor for Alameda

Post by lmontejo » Mon Mar 13, 2006 9:05 pm

Can we all chip in, and buy a compressor for Alameda this season? If there are twenty of us, for 10 bucks a piece we can have a great device that will leave our Bow kites nice and firm.

I suspect Rebecca won't mind if we plug it in at her shack.

We can have KiteWindsurf hold an envelope with the donations. How about it guys? (and Moocher... has anybody seen her - does she really exist?)

If she does, she'll definitely add a new slant to Alameda on those low wind days...

LMG tried donating one last year and the Board Sports LAdies didnt like the idea of it taking up space inside their very tight shack. There are also some typical California BS liability issues. I might bring my portable on the busy days for people to use but I dont think a permanant one is in sight.

And yes, the moocher AKA Danni, callsign Snacks- exists.

Compressor for shack

Post by Don Bogardus » Mon Mar 13, 2006 10:30 pm

We need a modern compressor that has a separator,
that won't put oil into the air that goes into your kites,
and a soundproof box to house it in, as even modern
ones are loud as hell!!. Donation fund could
make it a reality!.

I actually have a portable compressor that is gas powered it has 2 outlets and a dryer. Do you think it would be bad to have a gas powered one?

The sound proof box would have to be good, Does it have a large air tank?.

Its one of those with 2 smaller tanks . It would easilt fill 2 kites at the same time. But it would need to recharge every kite or 2.
