New to the bay, Looking for people to kite with.

Post by momomoney » Thu Mar 09, 2017 4:08 pm

I am a moderate level kiter, native to the far northern regions of California (Clam beach, Cape Mendocino,Humboldt Bay, Eel River basin), and parts of Oregon (Floras Lake, the Gorge, Pistol River). I have only ever kited once in the Bay, at the toll plaza. I am looking to explore some of the locations in the Kite Beaches Category. I am comfortable self-launching/landing, and staying upwind.I enjoy Kiting storm fronts as long as they're not excessively sketchy. I'd be interested in kiting pretty much anywhere anytime :)

Thanks! I just get a tad hesitant with exploring new places when no one has kites up and I am kiting alone. Maybe the way to go about it is to drive around on days with decent wind and find places where there are people kiting.

Where are you located in the bay? That will pretty much dictate where you'll be kiting during the season. :)

^ +1

Although kiting Alameda when there is no one else out is almost never a problem (if you are a low wind wizard :P) actually it is probably safer considering the crowd that comes to alameda Lo)%
Listing gear is bad, and you should feel bad.

I am in Palo Alto. But, I plan on kiting places that are not necessarily close by. I kited half moon bay yesterday, and the only sketchy part was worrying about the wind dying while I'm a ways off shore.
