Hey Kiters,

Since the wind has become difficult to find around here in Norcal, it's time to start thinking about your winter kite trips! Baja is a close, west coast windy destination you need to consider. Many of us west coasters have gone there for week-long trips, while others have spent months enjoying the Baja kite-life. If you haven't been there, then don't go through winter without getting your wind-fix and come on down! All you kiters that have taken lessons from me off the boat in SF, La Ventana is the place where it all comes together!

The winds are consistent from November through February, while October and March can still be good. The way the land curves around the Bay of La Ventana makes this location a great place to learn how to kiteboard, allowing you go downwind and have a beach waiting for you.

It's easy to get to La Ventana, Baja. Fly into Cabo San Lucas, rent a car, and drive 2.5 hours drive north along the Sea of Cortez. Shuttles are avail from Cabo as well.

Book your stay at CaptainKirks. It's a very nice resort with a great view of the water. Comfy and quiet at night and close enough to the fun spots in town.
