Squamish BC

We are headed up to Squamish in late June to do some climbing and kiting. Has anyone ridden there? Sounds like cold water and was wondering if I could get away with a 3/2mm full suit or if I'll need a 3/4mm. Any general insight would be most appreciated.

Squamish is my favorite place in the world to kite. Butter water, steady 21kt winds gusting 22, and the most beautiful scenery. It is cold, the Squamish river empties into Howe Sound and you're kiting the tributary. While the sound is salt, there's enough flow in the river that you're kiting fresh water, cold fresh water. You may be able to get away with a 3/2, but it will probably shorten your session. I wear a 4/3 with booties and usually my feet go number after an hour or two. My fiance rents a dry suit!

Thanks for the intel! Will bring my 4/3 and booties. Scenery looks stunning. I hear climbing is awesome too. I checked the map of the launch area and it looks like it blows off shore on the kite side of the spit. Is that correct? Also, 7 & 9m ok? (150lbs)

Should be a really fun trip but a looong drive.
