As many of you may know, I prefer the wave side of Kiteboarding so this comes as exciting news to me. I've known Felix for a long time and a lot of what I try to do in the waves is a result of riding with Felix years ago. Felix has been aware of Eclipse's focus on designing a wave-specific kite and was happy to come on board.

Dec 22, 2009)—Eclipse kites proudly announces the addition of Australian
wave pioneer Felix Pivec, to their team.

From an early start Felix has been expanding and defining the current
limits of modern wave riding with kites. Felix has set the standard for
hard-core progressive riding in the waves with a kite. Raw talent and
training has helped Felix achieved unprecedented levels of publicity for
kiteboarding with over 90 pages of editorial content just this past year.
One can only reach this level of success with endless hours on the water and
a commitment to pushing the sport so it gets the respect it deserves. Felix
looks towards the future and working with a brand he can grow with.

Felix states, "I'm really stoked to join the eclipse team and I'm excited
about all the new opportunities that lie ahead. Eclipse is a company that
really listens to fellow riders, as they really understand what is needed to
make the sport grow. Eclipse makes products for a purpose, when I tried the
KIMA I knew eclipse nailed it 100% with this kite, that was the first SLE
kite I could use in the waves! Eclipse does a great job-making top of the
line performance products. I like the simple and progressive approach
Eclipse brings to the sport. With products that really work, great customer
service and an awesome personal approach to management Eclipse is truly a
great brand and I’m very happy to be on the team.”

Eclipse founder Chris Cousins states “I could not be more happy to welcome
Felix to the Eclipse family. We know Felix had his choice of sponsors and we
are honored that he choice our brand. Eclipse is company founded by riders
as such we only build products when we are certain it will enhance our
customers riding experience. Felix brings a fresh perspective to our R&D
team and is a huge asset in our quest to develop the ultimate performance
kite gear.”

Eclipse co- founder Dimitri Maramenides states: “ I have known and worked
with Felix for the past 5 years. Felix shares my passion for kiteboarding
and is a amazing rider, he does things with a surfboard that I could never
do and knows that market better then anyone” I’m very exited to have Felix
on the team. Now I have a new challenge if I want to keep my status as the
most photographed kiteboarder!!

Felix will start hitting the beaches with the latest eclipse gear in the
next few days. In addition to making a new wave ridding DVD, Felix will be
attending various demo events throughout the world showing riders first hand
what the new Eclipse gear can do. Additionally Felix will be responsible
for the development of future wave boards and continuing to improve the KIMA
kite for 2010 and beyond.

Eclipse kites and boards will be available in a couple weeks at http://www.live2kite.com

Will Felix be riding the new Kima on a fixed bar (no depower)?

like what I hear.

But guys, please take some time and make a good press release. This one reads as from a NASDAQ traded company. Too boring for Eclipse in my sense.

Just as a side comment on the great news. G

Felix is riding the Kima, stock:

kite I could use in the waves! Eclipse does a great job-making top of the
line performance products."

No need to ride on a fixed bar. You have the depower to create space and you can also unhook which is Felix's style. This is a kite that rides well hooked in and unhooked. A lot went into developing a kite that would suit wave riders of all styles...

It looks like we have added photographer/surf board shaper, Jeff Pfeffer to the team as well. This is exciting news as Jeff shapes great boards that many of the top Oahu boys have been using and this means we will be treated to many good shots of Felix. Eclipse has been testing out shapers for the last year and I am glad we finally found a quality shaper who really understands what is needed to progress the surf aspect of this sport. Can't wait to get my new board!
