Yup, girls are out of town. So no worries, I'm sure they will chime in as soon as they get back.
I'm also pretty sure they already thought about it.

Re: [East Bay] Alameda/Crowne Beach
In the mean time...Anyone have experience or advice for kiting Alameda on a SE storm wind? Looks like tomorrow will have some wind but wasn't sure if Alameda is a good choice. Sherman perhaps?

Alameda can get fun in se wind
If it gos and not too much rain kites will be out
And as kirk said you can just rig up at shell gate to have more room down wind
Keep it Low and Go...

As a side note
I think kiters should launch off shore ....
"Kite next to water pilot up on land"
At shell gate they have the room.
Keep it low and go

In terms of getting wind reports in real-time, there isn't a better resource I've found than an iKitesurf membership. The iPhone and Android app are worth the price of admission alone.
And they offer a $20 discount for new memberships:
https://secure.ikitesurf.com/signup?lev ... rID=107160
Full disclosure: iKitesurf is a BAK sponsor
Also, the Boardsports cam in Alameda is helpful as well:
