John, you already know this, but I'm very pleased you took the initiative on this new launch site-- I'm sure the municipal wrestling is tiring (and many times fruitless I'm afraid.) Thanks for the effort.

Can't wait to do some trenching in the soothing waters of the PG&E plant!

City had been a breeze the insurance not so much. But I think they have it all figured out now.So lets just hope they don't find a way to spend the funds before then!

For future reference... North winds no longer suck on the delta!!! Buckler has opened up an "any day any wind direction" window to a new way to kite! It's like "Endurance" kiting. I took the chance to do several 14 mile down wind runs and rode two days this past weekend in the North winds. All I can say is that it's awesome and thanks a lot John for everything :) When I grow up I wanna be just like you! :)

Pittsburg Launch is out to bid right now for construction. Im guessing the delays revolved around the new kite shop signing a lease with city. The new kite shop is signed off now and will be in the 51 Marina Blvd "Marina Plaza Building". The kite ramp now looks more like a sept/oct finish. So that kinda make our plans for rides to grizzly on hold probably till early 2014. That being said Im still taking groups up to Buckler in my spare time. The point buckler website also has new wind speed sensors on home page for it and spinner island just above kiteopia.

We should see an official press release from city soon on kite shop and Riverview park remodel. I did see a bunch of kites launch off jetty this weekend. Very dangerous all rocks and slippery. But they all made it and headed downwind to sherman.

PvB, word has it that the construction of the new launch in Pittburg's Riverview Park is on hold until later in the season due to some specific environmental concerns that arose during the approval process.
