Snowkiting this weekend (1/23-1/24)

I'm considering giving snowkiting a shot today or tomorrow in south Lake Tahoe (Hope Valley, Grass Lake, or Caples Lake).
Anyone else going to be in the area?

I did Hope Valley late Saturday afternoon 1/30, was the only one out there

Hoping to go out there this weekend to avoid the traffic clusterfuck that the superbowl will produce. The ice thickness pretty good at Caples right now?

WindAlert for South Lake Tahoe airport but not sure how reliable it is.

Looks like it might be windier tomorrow. Considering going up from the bay area tomorrow for a half-day at Caples. Anyone done Caples yet this year? Ice thick enough?
