Note: We started this season with very cool ocean water due to the El Nina winter. For weeks now strong NW wind along the coast has created upwelling bringing up frigid waters from the depths. This summer these low waters temps will create a mass of cool, dense, foggy, high pressure air off the Golden Gate which should mean an epic Sherman Island season as this air flows towards the Central Valley low.

wait
Wait, I thought that Al Gore told everyone that global warming is going to hose everything......right????? wait, this does not support that???? I'm so confused........
I could have told you it's been cold: early in the spring most people kiting on the coast had to wear gloves cause the water/air combo was so incredibly cold.....was just too busy w/new job to post the observation.....
There will be many chances to.....Get some, Z.

San Francisco forecast issued 5/9/2008 at 7:00 AM by meteorologist Mike Godsey
Saturday wind weakens a bit w/focus at Waddell, Crissy, Coyote & 3rd. Then ramps back up on Sunday and Monday. Wednesday the winds die at most sites..
A combo on one waxing and one waning storm in the Gulf of Alaska storm cause the wind to briefly ramp down a bit on Saturday. By Sunday another fast moving Gulf of Alaska pushes the North Pacific High's NW winds back towards California and we see lots of low to mid 20's from Treasure Island eastward. A developing thermal low in the Great Basin and then near Las Vegas helps the wind strength. Best grab a lot of this wind since if the models are right we are in for a prolonged wind drought after Tuesday.
Say it isn't so!!!!
