I just found Kitesurf pro app and when you pay the $2 one time update fee you can see all the live wind data at every point. All the other features seem gimmicky because you don't specify what board you use but to see all the wind without a subscription is great.

So what's the difference from paying $10 per month or paying $2 one time fee if you can see all the same wind sensors for cheaper - am I missing something?

you are comparing 2 different apps. I don't know kitesurf pro, but looks like it was developed by some greek kitesurfer and they likely do not have access to the local premium wind sensors and definitely do not know bay area wind conditions. ikitesurf/windalert has their own sensor network and provides human forecasting throughout the season. It's worth every penny. The link below will give you $20 off for the first year.
