Been working on mastering this technique for weeks and just can't seem to land it. Usually end up sitting in the water, or overshooting my board, or launching the board in the opposite direction I want to go. Anyone know how to pull this off and can you offer any tips.

I'm not a master but one of the keys is killing your speed as you bring the kite to 12 and sheet in- you're basically doing a really lame floater with a flat spin,

:) I find it , If you kind of slow down and try to make a very small transition jump. Makes it easier. And as you are turning the board still paying more attention to the kite helps. It takes a while but when you do it feels good. However I still have one side better and the other side it feels much different.
I say work on one side more and do the another transition on somekind for a smoother ride. it`s a fun trick, i m sure you ll nail it in no time :P
PS; Is your name yojimbo like the amazing on the corner korean restaurant in Alameda?
They have the best after kiteing sushi`s imaginable and super cheap.

Every time I see this, I think "Wow, that's pretty cool, but you could have done a bottom turn instead -- the most perfect motion a human is capable of doing on a board."

Nah, Yojimbo is just my screen name. I'm a huge fan of Samurai movies. Still plugging away on this move.
The tack "corn fed" is demonstrating involves spinning 180 degrees, this particular transition is more difficult than the one I am trying to master.

Forgive the crappy editing job and the rookie riding.
