Androka,

I concur...please do not ask a person who does not kite to land you..self landing is not that hard unless it's 45knots of wind...worse come to worse...eject while you are on the water (close to shore) and self rescue.

Not worth a person getting hurt and espceially a non kiter

Happy kiting!

paul

androka wrote:Looks like racetrack might be the place again today. I'll head down around 2, need my fellow kiters to launch. Yesterday had a civilian land me on the beach, she did an excellent job.
its noon and berkeley and pt isabel are working their way up.... Any one up for an afternoon session? And if so post it here.
If you can't self launch or land, don't kite there by yourself!

May be time to put up some guidelines for the Racetrack.

10 tips I've learned are...

1) beach is for dog walkers and civilians ONLY!
2) parking lot is for self launch. (Clip CL to leash or rope w/ clip to car)
3) self land behind dune on ice plants when in parking lot.
4) radio recommended if venturing beyond point.
5) be familiar with VERY variable wind speeds East Bay produces (15 to 25+ to 0 in one sesh)
6) pick up some trash to keep beach clean!
7) you may need $4 to park on weekends.
8) take car key with you.
9) don't self rescue near rocks on bulb (esp. on S wind).
10) boost huge airs to entertain beach goers, have fun and be safe!

Thank you for taking the time to post this.
i would add.
if you can't kite up wind in holey condition don't go there.
Don't ride back and forth on the shore.
And don't swallow the water.
