Kiter Girl new to area and looking for rides to beach

Hi all,
I just came down to the Bay Area from Toronto and am staying in SF at the moment. I don't have a car (I'm at the "starving startup" stage at the moment) and realized today when going to 3rd that kiting here using public transit isn't pretty - took me 2.5 hrs to get from SF to 3rd by bus, train, then taxi. I wanted to throw it out there and see if anyone is willing to give me rides to/from the kite spots in exchange for good conversation and beer/gas $.
I am pretty flexible in terms of timing as I do not work 9-5 - keen to go whenever it is windy! In terms of locations, anywhere is good, except maybe Crissy or other more expert spots.
PM me and then we can exchange #s.
Thanks so much!
Jenn

Welcome! I used to live in T.O. myself.
If you ever need a lift from one of the San Mateo train stations to 3rd, private message me here on the board. I head out there most weekdays.

you're probably better off hanging out at 3rd and asking around at the lower launch or in the parking lot....you shouldn't have much trouble...lots of us do that commute.

Welcome to California! When you say startup do you mean like company startup or just getting out here--getting settled
For some reason I have a feeling if you introduce yourself at most of the spots in the bay area you will suddenly find rides popping up all over the place.. I'm not sayin, I'm just sayin

Thanks for all the replies guys!
When I say startup, I mean company startup. But I am also new to the area.

I always love a new KiteGirl =D> =D>
Bart on over to WestOakland and I'll show you around the East Bay.. We could try the Race Track or Marina first. plunty of "newer" kiters going to these spots.. I mostly kite the Delta this time of year so I'll show you that area too if you've got the time, thats an ALL DAY (or two) thing... if you able to self launch/land off the ski we could eventually ride the inner bay.
Sorry about the pick-up point but I hate dealing with "traffic" so I live/work in the EastBay and avoid the hassle of "SF" as much as possible...
Have Fun!!! Greg

It's sad G, because I'm sure there's plenty of them that get hit and pretty beat up when they're taking their pedestrian skills along with them while traveling out of state
But due to unfortunate sheeple state driving legislature California natives do not have a healthy fear of automobiles
