One kite quiver, maybe?

So I've ditched my old '05 "C" quiver and am looking to get an '08 T3. My 11m Fuel was my most used at 3rd Ave (I'm 165lb).

For anyone who is riding a T3 -- Will an 11m T3 size up similarly to my old 11m Fuel? I've never flown a bow kite, but I assume similar power for same size? I'm gonna try for a one kite quiver with the 11m with all the hoopla about great wind-range and de-power on the T3. I realize the dream of a one-kite quiver will inevitable vanish... but would still like to hear some feedback from those T3 kiters out there.

Just remember that the T3 has quite a bit of bar pressure. Not so great for riding one handed.

terrible idea. also the 11m is not the one kite quiver kite. the 11m has way more power than your 11m fuel and honestly the 9m would make a better 1 quiver kite at you weight maybe add a bigger board to the quiver.
Don't know why the T3 though. i would consider a different kite the T3 is just not it. coming from a Fuel you are going to REALLY hate the T3.

my 10 rebel is definately very close to a 1 kite quiver. but I dont like flying in 30+ nor 14- so I guess its a matter of where and what you kite in. An alameda quiver would be a 9/12. A waddel quiver would be a 7/9, sherman maybe a 9 would do you pretty good. Everyone is different though. weight, skill, riding style, kite style......etc.

Stu- Since your a long time Slingy owner- Why not step up to the 10m RPM (09) ?? I'll arrange a visit to 3ed Ave for a demo if your serious buyer.... I've got an 8-10-12!

Or if you need to get a used kite, go with a Rev instead of T3.

If you want a decent kiting experience throughout the year, even at the same launch - no such thing as a one kite quiver - ever, period.

With that said, a two kite quiver of Revs, Rev2's or for something new that you'll really like, RPM's, would be verrry nice...

Yes, it's possible a 10 or 11 could work quite a bit, but if you only like a certain wind range and a certain spot. On other points, I'm not so sure.

I really believe in being on the right size kite for any given conditions. Trimming your kite (much) is a drag and decreases the kites performance and stability. In recent years, I've flown the following at Alameda - 7,9,10 and 11, Sherman same, 3rd same, Berkeley same, Crissy same, OB 7,9,10, Dillon 5,7,9, on and on. Then if you ever travel to kite, it's important to have a few kites.

I just feel a one kite quiver is unrealistic and will have major limitations, but that's just me. :shifty:

A 2 kite quiver with a variety of boards also can help extend your range a lot but i agree with Ollie that a 1 kite quiver is not really practical or possible.

I have 2 Ocean Rodeo Rise kites in 8 and 10 M which gets me thru about 95% of conditions in the Bay area. I kite almost every spot in the bay area and just vary between surfboard, race board, and twin tips depending on the conditions and what i feel like riding that day.
