What's up with the water at 3rd?

I was out at 3rd Wednesday and the water spigot was shut off. Does anybody know what's up with that? It's really nice to be able to rinse your wetsuit at the beach with reclaimed water... Say it isn't so!
If the golf course is trying to save water by cutting us off, I think overall more water will be wasted when we all rinse our suits with good drinking water at home...

We are hooked into the irrigation system.
So when they put fertilizer in, they cut us off.
They have been making noises about cutting us off completely till we can get tied in to a real water line - hope it doesnt happen.
Please don't bitch to the golf course, they don't get anything for providing us water.

so that is where the water comes from, reclaimed golf course water from the fertilized greens... sounds yummy, but better than nothing... just curious, is there a plan to get city provided water to 3rd? I know it must be pretty expensive to make that happen.

I don't think it's reclaimed water, I think it's tide in to the golf course sprinkler system which is the city water.

Even if it is reclaimed water, it will not hurt you. We have been kiting in the bay that has been attacked by sewage spills, and oil spills. So, shower on. I think Los Angeles has started using reclaimed water for drinking.

Those of you who enjoy using that water even the ones who do not enjoy using the water who use it anyway should consider joining the SFBA. Rick did most of the work but it was funded by SFBA and they continue to pay for the water. Of course there are numerous other benefits we enjoy from SFBA.
Thanks

Maybe the SFBA can help fund my new ramp. :)
