Family Day @ Alameda anyone?

Post by Proparoo » Sat Mar 24, 2007 9:22 am

The Sacramento Crew is thinking of going to Alameda tomorrow if the forecast looks good. We are planning to bring our kids and make a day out of it complete with sand castles, picknics and lots of fun for the kids.....

So if you have some young kids and want to meet us let me know or we will just meet you down at the beach.

Hope the weather works out and hope to see you and your families for a day at the beach...

Now to throw in a Monkey Wrench, do you think it will be cold and overcast? What about Rio? Sherman sure went off today, wish I called it..

Rich, it's going to be cold everywhere tomorrow, even at Sherman. Wind if it happens is going to be frontal, gusty, and up and down (not the same as gusty). Just like today but maybe worse.

I didn't kite today, but I'm not sure I would have wanted to be out at Sherman today when it went from 18 av. to 27 in a minute and a half. If there were many people there, the beach probably got pretty interesting, anyway. I'm curious to hear the on-site reports.

Speaking of kids having fun. Today at Alameda was by far the most people I think I'd ever seen there. Lots of kites on the water, lots of kites on the beach. It was cool seeing a lot of faces I only see at 3rd and other spots. I heard several times "I haven't kited here in years." The vibe was great. The wind was not so solid but I was out on my 14m for about 4 hours straight until my legs were about to die. The day started sunny and warm and by the end it was overcast and cold.

Ps. Kev, I saw Jake get up on the board today for his first ride! You must be a proud parent. Congrats!

I hope tomorrow shows more wind. I'm lovin' it!

Thanks Bobby, Jake & I had a blast today and it looks like he's taking to it well! Yes I'm very proud! As for the weather... it's looking a little ugly for tomorrow and low tide is going to be around noon Rich so it's looking kinda iffy. We'll probably go hang out and see what happens anyway.

Well Jeff G (Kiter from Sac.) and I talked and we are going to come out with some of our friends and have a cool beach day.

Hope to see you out, and who know, it might even blow...
