Hey guys,
Last week we received the 2007 Underground FLX boards and I have to say I am super impressed by the way they look.
I am already setting a 132 board which will be my come-back ride since last summers injury!

They are sick - come and check them out!

Hey Evan,

A few questions:

1. you're still recovering from surgery? No kiting yet? When are you forecasting you'll be riding?
2. what's up with the graphics on the board, they look, well, a little weird.
3. What has changed since 2006? The bottom contour seems the same, but they changed it to be a wood core. Anything else you notice without actually riding one yet?

Hey Adam,
Still recovering believe it or not. Went out skiing about 2 months ago (already 6 months after the surgery) and was limping for a week after than. And it wasn't really skiing, just being with my 4 yr old on the bunny slopes....
The graphics are actually really nice. The photos on the sites look really dull and dark, but in reality they are bright and fun. Almost like a art piece on the bottom, with bright visible sold colors on the front.
You should check them out to tell for yourself! I like them a lot.
The differences are suttle but important. The boards are fine tuned to perfection. The new core is actually a lot smoother than, with nice flexing. This board will not ride to matter how hard to land it or abuse it!
The concave is different also. It got tuned so there is no flat spot during transitions so no sliding or hydroplaning. It's also a much faster bottom with less pronounced channel. Overall they have taken a very successful design and tuned it to perfection, IMHO.
It's a good breeze of fresh air seeing that the price didn't go up this year, vs other boards that are shooting over 700s, 800s or even $900 :-O !!!!

Let me know when you want to check them out!

Evan

I forgot to add the new pads. They had a toe bar which is a must for all pads to ensure comfortable riding.

Since I just bought my board last year, i'll probably hold off on getting a new one. I'm curious about the toe bar. What is it? could you possibly post a picture?

It's a bump under the toes on the pads for more comfort.
Have you ever felt that your toes are bending upwards looking to grab on the strap while riding? That a lot of waiste of energy and discombfort.
The toe bar addresses it.

You can see it on the Mystic Kinetic pads:

Hey Mark - you make me laugh:-)
The 555, 666 and Shinn's are killer boards.
Unfortunately stock is limited on these :-( so only a few lucky ones get to play each month.
Tough to compare - FLX is more of a blend between the 555 and 666.

For what it's worth,

I am super stoked on the Nobile 666. Just had it in the waves 2 days ago at Dillon. Good fun! Can't wait for the directional though!
