I know this part of the website is more for the water crowd, but it does get more traffic, so I'm posting this message here as well. :)

Tahoe Mountain Sports is hosting a small snowkite and snowshoe demo at the meadows near Mt. Rose on Saturday from noon till 4pm.

Please come up for the afternoon and get some tips on snowkiting and demo some Ozone kites and Mystic harnesses (limited demos on hand, so bring your kites and gear as well).

You can also try out Kahtoola's coolest new snowshoe system... NO insulated boots needed (i.e Sorels). Bring ONLY your sneakers, running or trail shoes if you want to demo them!

Hope to see you there! :)

Hey Mark,
How did it go?
Unfortunately the wind never really came up, but it was enough to launch my 12m Frenzy and keep it up. I got up riding, but I was sorely underpowered. I could run faster than I was moving, but I did ride (for 2 minutes).

As far as the turnout for the snowkite demo, only a few were interested. With no good wind we couldn't do much. WJB who's here on the forum made a brief appearance... good to meet you!

The snowshoe demo was also slow, but productive in the sense of product awareness... we talked to nearly 2 dozen snowshoers about Kahtoola's innovative new snowshoe system. If interested - www.kahtoola.com

Other than all of that, it was definately a beautiful day weather-wise. We just drank a few beers and worked on our tans while sitting in a field of snow.

Mark, it was good to meet you Saturday. To bad about the wind although it made for an excellent day for skiing. Oh well. I would have hung out a little longer but my friends were in a hurry to give all their money to the casino (which they did). Wade

I am not the big gambler type. I left it up to them to make the donations.
