This this is for real! I just got off the phone with a guy who has been riding Para something with a back pack wind machine! Freaking nutz! We were joking about this before but here it is! Damn.

I saw a guy with one of these at Sherman (little baja) around the 4th of July! He had it packed in his camper for the no wind days. Awesome, hope to see it again!

thats funny, i actually made those for a while, in a way not only how my business got started but how i got into kitesurfing. Our test pilot scared the hell out of me though watching him fly something I made was very wierd. As much faith as i have in my craftsmanship, it is always a tense moment when someone's life is in your hands. And hense why I kitesurf and dont power paraglide. We also made a float kit for ultralights but that was just as scary. But like you say, it is/was nice not having to rely on wind. Ironically I remember test flying the ultralights at the launch north of crown beach really early in hopes we would avoid any wind. how oppossite could that be from we want now :)

That is just goofy looking.

Let's just say I'm not a powertoys kinda guy. I get to spend enough of my day breathing exhaust as it is.

Accessories soon to come for this thing (add it to the list): Abdominal support, for those flyers who spend their hours on the ground regaling their drinking buddies with stories of their in-air adventures and need a little help holding up that gut while in the air.

but is it endorsed by john travolta?

i noticed the tandem one at the bottom - is a non-solo powered paraglider legal? i would think it would be in the same category as other ultralights, which i thought the FAA prohibited from having passengers.

Greg, you serious!? Cause he actually did. One day we test flew at the marina and a belt broke on the engine, he glid down over to the next peninsula and got picked up by park police. But I think you were joking. haha, pretty funny though.

I wasnt joking!
I heard about an un-planed water landing behind the Marina (by the kite park) involving a powered para-glider.
