Just something to think about next time you drop your kite at Dillon Beach.

Whitey took a bite out of an unlucky surfer yesterday at Dillon Beach. Granted the guy was doing the lame seal imitation, lieing on his board between sets. I wonder what sharks think about a kiter struggling with dropped kite...spaghetti with meatballs?

This guy is a dope. He was just reported as having been bitten at the mouth of the Russian river four years ago. He's stupid, and has a death wish. Oh, let me see, I think I will lay out in the ocean in a black shiny looking suit, at the mouth of rivers and inlets, with no other source of power, laying in one place for extended periods of time, in PRIME feeding grounds for sharks. How's that for run on? Just makes you think about your gear failures, huh?

My question is what defines a "provoked" attack? I have never heard of a surfer taunting a shark with a piece of meat other than his legs sticking in the water. I would think inorder to call it provoked, the surfer would have had to know it was there first off and then do something to piss it off.

Also, didn't the israeli's invent a shark repellant many years ago? What ever happened to that?

I heard on the news this morning that he's "hanging up his surf board for good." He has two kids and a family and he didn't give an interview. But they said 30+ foot waves at Mavericks yesterday. Sheesh! That's nutty.
