Where to kite?

In the Bay Area (Marin - but no problem traveling for a sesh) for the next two weeks. I know this isn't the season, but if anybody has sees some wind coming through, could you post it here. I know the bay area well, but haven't a clue where and when to kite. It seems windy today. Do people kite on these stromy days or is the wind too unstable and unpredictable? Stinson, Bolinas, limantour, drakes?
If anybody is going for a sesh, would very much appreciate a heads up. Please post here or e-mail me at

Alameda is 14ESE right now (and San Leandro offshore is 22SSE.) These southerlies are better'n nothing I guess, and some folks may suggest Alameda can be fun on days like this.

Go to Stinson Beach right now, it should be the windiest place around. If it's windy enough to kite, launch and start riding. That way the rest of us will see your kite on the webcam, know it's rideable, and meet you on the water.
They need to put a zoom on that Sharkcam so you can see the whitecaps.

No wind at Stinson, maybe 5mph gusting to 10. Does Alameda work when the sensor reads ESE? Are there any wind meters for West Marin?
Anything looking promising on the charts for the next few days?

ESE is good for Alameda, it's really more Southerly on that reading...

Alameda was OK today. I was out from 11-1 on a 10m (big board). In storm winds take a look at the overall picture cuz the windmeter can get shadowed. Alameda PORTS can be a better gauge than the normal Alameda sensor, and also there was more wind on the outside.

If the clearing winds come through today it might be a duplicate of Weds. (wind everywhere) or at least of Saturday (wind at a few coastal spots).
It's blowing at Sherman right now but that will probably die pretty quick.
Forecast is pretty light but here's to hoping.

Too bad we can't kite at night (well I guess we could) as it was really blowing in Sacramento around 8pm.... From the Dyke 8 information it was really blowing untill morning, just our luck...
I'm off to San Diego this weekend for a week of camping right on the water at Silver Strands Beach on Coronado beach... the launch is just a short walk from our camper...
I don't really expect it to blow but Hell, stranger things have happened and we might get a clearing wind durring that time. I will be bringing my 11m and my 16m and some good Nor Cal stories and vibe, hope you all have a great Thanksgiving and give plenty of thanks to the wind GODS...
