Pushing the sport in the South Bay

After reading a number of the posts from beginners lately, I thought it was time to post this up and see what happensÖ..
After 8 years of WakeBoarding and a short time with a power kite, I have finally made the switch to KiteBoarding. Now that I have gotten my feet wet, and pretty much everything else, it is time to get better and ready for next season in the Bay Area.
It seems that starting in late summer left me limited around here, so I figured that it is time to hook up with other South Bay KiteBoarders for some winter work. While WakeBoarding I set up a several great crews who all worked to push each other in the sport, from beginner riders, to intermediate, coaches, and pros, we all rode and had great times and pushed each otherÖ.so why not KiteBoarding? With winter coming I figure there is a short time left to ride here, and I hope to get a few more days in if the wind cooperates with my schedule, it is time for winter progression. So Iím working on pulling together a cool group of South Bay(or beyond) KiteBoarders for some winter fun and great riding next season. Iím thinking of some short 3 day weekend trips out of the area to ride in better conditions (southÖwarmer!), local riding if/when possible, maybe a few trips to warmer/more tropical destinations are a possibility, SnowKiting could be interesting, LandBoard Kiting, and DEFINATELY some cross training and gym work (Iíve got a private gym and am in the process of designing a great training program for kiteboardingÖgotta hit the weights! See: Wakeboarding Workout ). Hitting all that should make the winter go by both quickly and effectively, getting ready to hit the water in the Bay early next season with skills that should exceed the ones learned this season. So far, everyone Iíve met out at the water have been great to hang with and talk to, so pulling together people with similar interests and goals should be pretty darn easy. Anyone interested, feel free to comment or PM!
