The wind this time of year is hit and miss.Ocean Beach,Crissy field,Waddell creek,3rd Ave., Half Moon Bay,Berkeley Marina all are right there to be had.You did'nt say your weight but most ride 10 to 14 meter kites here.Keep an eye on IKITESURF for the wind and be ready to drive if needed. At any launch always ask a local for the info. on the area,as some can be tricky. Good luck!

conditions are tapering down after a great summer. if you're willing to drive 30-40 min, you should be able to kite 5 out of 7 days or so in a given week.

from union square, your closest options are probably crissy, 3rd ave, berkeley . . .if none of those are going off, you'll have to drive a bit further.

Thanks guys!
I weight around 200 pounds so I will probably bring my 14!

I'll try to nail a session saturday and sunday!
Does the wind pick up in the afternoon or is it a morning session?
Any nice wave spot???????

afternoon for everywhere except sherman island which is best really early in the morning or late in the evening. most places aroun dhere tend to get going at around 3-4 pm.

wave spots close to you would be stinson, ocean beach or waddell. waddell has the best wind, but is the furthest drive, OB and stinson can be hit or miss depending on wind.
