No, but after locating a warm fire to get in your 8/6 wetsuit, head to the lake of dead bodies. Once your nuts shrivel up into the size of stale rasins, come in and again find a hot fire to thaw out your fingers so you can get into some warm dry clothes. What I'm trying to say is that Tahoe is freaking deep and cold. Also, who wants to kite in a lake that Jacque Cousteau wouldnt go back into if you paid him?

OK...been a while since you've been to Tahoe, eh? Kiting Lake Tahoe can actually be some of the nicest kiting around when it's good. Who wouldn't want to kite in water that you can drink, surrounded by breath-taking views and 5 kiters is a crowd?
Nevada Beach is about the only South Shore launch this year. They have designated two launch and ride areas. One is at the North end of the beach and the other is at the very south end past the fence. You must go out through the swim bouys as fast as you can and then kite on the outside...the wind is better out there anyway. Don't get caught launching or riding in the wrong area...sherrif is giving out $300 tickets. If in doubt, ask some of the locals...if it's windy they will be there.
Enjoy. It really is a nice place to kite when it's windy.

Windhorny,
Are you always such a pussy?
So what if it's cold? It never stopped most of us before. It's what we deal with on the coast most of the year... All part of the game..

He sounds to me like someone who just got an apartment 50 ft. from a kitebeach, like Alameda or something. :|
Alameda's pretty cold in the winter, too, dude, plus there's stuff just underwater that you can't see  and things floating in it after a storm that you don't want to see.
