Seeking: Large Light Wind Board (150cm by 50cm)

Post by Rascal » Mon Aug 14, 2006 10:36 am

Hi There:

I am looking to purchase a large lightwind board. I have checked out all the usual places (ebay, Ikitesurf, BayAreaKiteboarding classifieds, as well as the local shops) without success.

I'm 210 pounds, so would be looking for a large board, in the 150 cm by 50 cm range.

Doesn't have to be in great condition, just as long as it rides I am interested.

If you have a second hand one that you are interested in selling, please ping me, I would very much appreciate it.

Best wishes,
Rascal

I doubt that you will find something as wide as 50CM. If you are on a budget, try building one yourself from ply. Take little time and works very well.

Bonjour Rascal,

We have been making now for the second year an Underground FLX at 152 x 45cm. it has double concave and the bottom is flatter (less rocker) for better light wind performance, but not totally flat so it still is a high performance board.
We also make a 148x45cm FLX board which fits in the "golf" bags for traveling.
You can see them online at http://www.live2kite.com/product_info.p ... e3b5989fae

You can come and see one in person at our warehouse in Sausalito or at your local beach.

This is probably the only high performance light wind board you will find.

If you are up for jibing then you might find this one interesting:

It's 140x48cm wide. Also exclussively available at live2kite ( http://www.live2kite.com/product_info.p ... e3b5989fae ).

Call us if you have more questions or want to take a look at both.

Aggression makes a 140 x 46 board that I use @ OB when the wind is 10-15 mph and I use my 15m kite. It is called the Barn Door. I used it this weekend and I was the only one managing to stay consistently upwind. Even a guy on a 20.5 SS Machine with a Slingshot 5'11" SRT couldn't keep up with me. I have a friend who sells them new if you want to PM me.

Evan,

funny to see that you have skywalker boards now ;-). Just a few months ago I bought one from them in Europe and I actually recommended you as a possible shop here in the SF bay as they didnt had an US distributor at that time. Obviousely they were faster than I thought. Insane boards for an insane price.

How is your knee going along? Any news? CU, G

BTW all your board links are messed up on your HP ... 1054 - Unknown column 'p.products_id' in 'on clause' ...

Rascal:

Door or Glide, no way around for low wind and good weight ... or take the ugly but good "Jesus" ;-(horny I would protect that name for light wind boards ;-)))

Howdy,
Skywalkers are indeed great boards for the price.
We started getting them last month and they are really working well.
Thx for the recommendation. We are now the official West Coast Test Center for them. With a rider like Dimitri on the Skywalkers you know that these boards are really good.

The D-Wave would be the skim killer, or even the course race directional master.

We are now making the latest version of the FLX Underground for light winds which is 46cm wide with flat bottom so it starts even faster and rides faster. This will become more standard in 2007 for the FLX.

We will have it towards the end of this week.

The links work for me - I am not sure if you still have trouble with them.

with all the errors. May be a long night for you ....

it works if I start with your homepage, at least for the first 5-7 clics (on anything) and then again hangs up in the Nirvana ...

Thanks for the responses to my question. Evan of Live2Kite is, very kindly, working with me to see if he can get my problem solved.

Particularly the offer of the Jesus board, which was really appreciated.
