www.iwindsurf.com

It'll tell you what the wind is doing right now. Their predictions aren't law, but they are useful. There is Tide info there too.

Predicting wind is pretty hard. I usually try to go off of previous days data and if there is no wind at all just before you head to a spot good luck.

For me one of the tell tell signs is if the Fog is deep and thick in SF it will blow 95% of the time at Sherman.

Hay Brenan,

no offence but the forcast is not that good acording to NOAA

Here is the forcast:

SAN FRANCISCO SAN PABLO SUISUN BAY AND THE WEST DELTA-
236 PM PDT MON AUG 7 2006 ...

SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT PDT TONIGHT... .

TONIGHT...W WINDS 15 TO 25 KT...DECREASING TO 5 TO 10 KT OVERNIGHT. .

TUE...W WINDS 5 TO 15 KT. .

TUE NIGHT...W WINDS 10 TO 20 KT...BECOMING S 10 KT OVERNIGHT. .

WED THROUGH THU...SW WINDS 5 TO 15 KT. .

FRI AND SAT...SW WINDS 5 TO 15 KT.

It looks like a cool down later in the week but as for now it doesn't look that good Tues & Wed.

Here is part of the SF Bay forcast discission:

ALTHOUGH THE ONSHORE GRADIENT FROM SFO-WMC STRENGTHENED 3 MB TO 8 MB SINCE THIS MORNING THE SFO-SAC GRADIENT EASED 0.7 MB TO 2 MB. THE ONSHORE GRADIENT IS EXPECTED TO WEAKEN FURTHER ON TUESDAY AS THE UPPER LOW DEPARTS AND A WEAK RIDGE MOVES IN. INCREASING HEIGHTS AND A WEAKER ONSHORE GRADIENT WILL TRANSLATE INTO WARMER TEMPERATURES ACROSS THE DISTRICT. WARMER TEMPERATURES WILL LAST TWO DAYS BEFORE THE NEXT UPPER LEVEL TROUGH MOVES INTO THE DISTRICT.

So I would say it looks good for this weekend as Sacramento weather is calling for a slight cool down on Friday....

But what the Hell, I really don't know anything, and Godsey really doesn't know everything...

Tide Data - Join RVWA

Post by W84Wind » Sat Aug 19, 2006 1:36 pm

For tide data, join RVWA and get a cool tide chart and area guide. Your $$$ will be well spent on facilities for kiters and windsurfers on Sherman Island. (port-a-potties, sandbagging, launch leases, etc)

For conditions, you can call RVWA's windtalker at 916-777-7007 and check out the windcam at http://www.rvwa.com/webcam.htm
