who played and who won..?

that was the UN Bay Challange...
race was something like GG to Berk and back...
VERY CHALLANGING, I'd like to know if anyone EVEN finished,

WOW, this was the hardest thing I have done in a long time... the race started at 2 PM just below Crissy Field, we raced up past a mark outside the south tower of the Golden Gate Bridge, then crissed crossed across the bay about 8 times to different maks down to Berkley. Each mark was on the opposite side of the bay...think zig zagging across the bay down to
Berkley. Once we rounded the mark at Berkley, it was a straight run back up to the finish at Crissy Field.
This is the classic done by the windsurfers, and the fist time attempted by kiters. 8 kiters started and the downwind portion was won by Chip Wasson and the upwind leg by Geoff Headington. The winners finished by 5 PM, I finished at 6:15. Total distance, approx 58 miles on GPS. The down wind, crossing the bay was truely fun BUT, omg, the upwind back to Crissy was just plain painful, all I can say.
The SFYC hold many kite events, and on every second Thursday, is race series. Please come and compete, watch, or join the after party at the club when they open it up to non-members.

Circumnavigation of Farallon's was similar distance, without strong currents and many marks, but other considerations.
Lead changes and strategies up to the end of leg back to SFYC, amazing!
Pt Blunt was ave 35 mph.
Kudos to the support team and challengers.
