I have never seen anyone kite there. Total glass water. I know its offshore and rocks, so only windsurfers go there.

Today on the way to Third Av I saw a kite about 50 meters from the highway. It was some kind of bow, in the water, and there was a Jet Ski around. A lesson maybe.

Anyone kite there? Looks sketchy, but flaaaat.

It is also extremely gusty (0-40mph sometimes). I know KWS often takes their lessons over there, so that is probably what whom you saw.

No safe place to launch/land. No downwind area for last ditch problems. Next stop is Alameda. Not to mention the outgoing tidal flushes that is shared with the quagmire on the west side of 101.
