What are you working on next?

Post by zgur » Mon May 08, 2006 9:36 am

I like where Limm was going with his contest at the race.......my questions are related. In addition to having a session, I am usually trying to progress my skill level. Wondering about my brothers out there....

1. What are you working on next?
2. What do you use for inspiration?
3. Who gives you feedback?
4. How do you manage fear?

My anwers
1. The perfect bottom turn, off the lip combination....getting better at reading the ocean and knowing what makes a good wave (wave selection)
2. Watching the locals in Santa Cruz
3. I ask everyone for feedback
4. I Don't put myself in conditions where I can't afford to pay the price

What about you??

Is there a name for ramp-jumping a wave/swell (getting air only from the ramp) and then sending the kite once you're already in the air? It reminds me of watching the NASA rockets launch, with the two-stage booster. I spend all day yesterday playing with that. Toeside board hop back to heelside, too.

1. shoulder healing
1.5 getting revenge on that manuever that hurt my shoulder in the first place.
2. slew of powered passes and landing to blind maneuvers.
3. doing a proper boardoff(fin grab) both ways(my left(port?) tack BLOWS as far as jumping goes).

sorry if i sound too optimistic, but if i'm not learning or practicing a new move i'm really not _nearly_ as much fun. Something about blowing up when you mess up, or more importantly sticking something youve been working on is SO satisfying.

5.i'm also working on strengthening my weakass arms. but thats not really a trick, haha.
