Hello.Moving to the Bay area this summer but will be up in Santa Rosa. I'm doing some mapping to figure out my distances to riding spots but can anyone give me the skinny on what my best options are? Looks like I'll be riding with whitey up north? Havent moved yet, but will need to live within 20 or 30 minutes of Santa Rosa.

Thanks for any advice or input,

Soon to be in CA

Bodega Bay(Doran Beach), Dillon beach, Salmon Creek.

Nothing wrong with being close to Bodega. That's one of the only places around that is kiteable on almost any direction wind.

You can hit the north bay in 30mins, Shermin in about an hour and kite surf in 30mins. YOUR STOKED!
See ya soon,

If you need to live about 20 min away then I would think that anywhere south on 101 will work. Novato is still close to Santa Rosa, but closer to the bay. That way you'll be 20 -30 min from Chrissy, just over a hour from Sherman, and not far from the northern spots.

Dude, you could be in a far worse predicament wind-wise. Count your blessings my friend and bring beer to Sherman to schedule your weekend launch time. You'll need to be added to the Rolodex in order to book your flight times as I'm sure you've heard.

As for Salmon Creek, don't pee in your wetsuit, the urea causes feeding frenzies!

My advice is to live down near Petaluma. You can make a quick shot out to the coast or a longer one, but not crazy long, over to Rio. The north bay will be your oyster.
