I read an artacle by dave kalama, awile back
and he said ,there is an rethym to it, a kind of ebb and flow
i find when i get selfish about my water sports i get spanked from time to time.
Ifind when i give back to the sport,i get little payBacks! That make my day or even my week.
like helpn luanch the beach, or getting someones board for them,
tuch n base with someone who is dragg n (go ask if you can help)
I feel there is an religon to it ,and the water has a personelity all its own.
how you act, will determen your fun facter.

Dave Kalama = ultimate waterman and totally cool fellow. You ever see those American Express ads with Laird Hamilton, a pick-up truck, a dog and a friend? That's the guy. He has ruled the Northshore of Maui since day one in all forms; multi-sport athlete redefined.
I helped launch and land a few kites yesterday and am stockpiling Karma for my trip to the Big Surf later today! Hope I don't need to make a withdrawal.

Thanks for the launch yesterday, Dave!
Let's hope kiters don't get so "religious" about the sport that we start killing each other over whose brand of kite is "right" and which are "wrong". Hmmm that might already be happening on kiteforum, huh?

There is more to karma then launch n and help n out on the beach.
like not snake n (ask zeev)
you can snake on flat water too
being rude, port n people, boostn up wind of someone
not move n your kite (high or low )
sending bad vibes
ect.... ect... ect....

Charlie's right about the karma thing not just being about launching/landing.
The surf community has a saying about picking up a piece of trash every time you go out and I think that the entire watersports community could emulate this and not just wait for the 'clean-up' days which are great things as well.
Someone had posted a while back asking Ollie to organize another cleanup day for Ashby beach. You don't have to wait till the official cleanup day. Just pickup a piece of trash next time you packup.
