Is anyone using a GPS receiver while they're out on the water(/snow) kiting?
Check out someone cruising on a lake in Minnesota. Only about 4 recordings for kiting, 1 looks suspect (Lake Folsom), and the others look like they're on ice/snow due to location and date.
Check it out, you'll need to signup for a free account though.

I just sold mine to a hang glider pilot since I never used it but I also wantred to see how fast I was going past Charlie out on the water. Cause you know if you can't hear Charlie on the water, you must be going faster than the speed of sound. :)

They also do "just for fun" speed contest with GPSs'. You get the thing attached to you while kiting for 30 minutes. Afterwrds the max speed reading counts.
They use a small GPS (as the Garmin shown above) wrapped in an Aquapack.

Hey josh,
Did you see this?

I also found this for using on the mtn bike. It is not the most user friendly program but has some killer potential. I'm using the
Land one.
CompeGPS
I too would like to know if anyone is using any cool programs to map/animate their adventures with a GPS.

I have a garmin forrunner 201 gps receivers that I use for jogging. I can't see it working really well kitesurfing. Charlie showed me a better system last year with a remote odometer and a sensor that he would attach to the bottom of his board. Do your remember that Charlie?

I would like to check the alt. also. I don't think there is a receiver that will measuer the alt. and speed.
