Here are photos of the Windwing Rapture 2 for ID purposes. The standout visual features are:

a) Highest-Projected Kite in the Market (Increase lift area with minimal drag and weight)
b) Six Strut Configuration (Smaller for less drag and weight)
c) Patented DSI (Dynamic Structural Influence) system. (Notice clean and lack of deformity on the trailing edge.)
d) Reduced LE Diameter (Better upwind, speed and reduced weight)
5) LE Mini-battens (Prevents canopy distortion over a wide range of AOA)
e) Minimal Bridles (Maintains canopy shape, increases stiffness, improves range and low bar pressure)
f) Wide and Rounded Wingtips (Improved airflow, reduce drag, easy re-launch)
g) Straight Trailing Edge (From tip to tip makes reverse re-launch and de-power more effective)
h) Minimal Graphics (Reduces weight)
i) One Pump Option (You choose)
j) Linear Profile Seams (Achieves perfect canopy shape)

When are we going to see cutaway kites?

How about camber inducers?

Convertible battens?

Leech lines?

Etc.

Bill Hansen the designer of this kite, was on the forefront of the windsurfing evolution. Looks like he is doing it again in the kiting world.

The guy who is making my custom board says that the paint on the board can increase the weight by 15-20%. You can have an ugly board that is really light, or a tricked out board that is weighed down with paint.

When you're talking ounces, things can add up pretty quick.

Kevin, they know that already. I think. I've been pestering them for some time now, but the design and production kites had to be final, which is understandable. But yes, sooner is better!
