Alameda this weekend?

Post by Pablito » Fri Oct 07, 2005 10:46 am

Speaking of Alameda,
How's it looking for this weekend? I'm done with Sherman for the year (note: when forecast is for 10-25, don't bother).

I'm seeing conflicting forecasts. Weather is supposed to turn offshore on Saturday afternoon/evening, but some sources are still calling for onshore wind in the bay. The coast is a long drive for me...

maybe very light wind, in the 5-10 mph avg
if you see avg 8 think about rigging something big.
i do not think your gonna ride your 10m.

Charlie,
I have a 17 Outrage.

But it seems that the weather prophets are now in agreement about NW winds even for the bay starting tomorrow. Might have to go Coastal.

If there's a good NW flow, and this is generally a rule, there's a pretty good shot of Alameda being good. 3rd has been good lately too, but that would extend your drive a bit.

Thanks guys,
Didn't realize that Alameda was good on NW days. Third does seem to be on every day lately, though. I've never kited anywhere except Sherman and La Ventana. Time for a change of scenery.

Sherman is awesome, but kiting on the Bay can be epic sometimes and not soon forgotten!

It already looks like hell for today. heavy wind everywhere and the first surfers are already out at 3rd. I assume that 3rd will develop to hard for kiting so Alameda should be perfect. CU out there later today. K
