Faster launching

Lots of guys on this forum probably know about this already but I wanted to go ahead and post it here anyway.

FOUR HUNDRED FEET of kite flight line to manage, no problem ...

Image
uh, well maybe.

Not to worry, help is here with the Line Manager!

Image
The Line Manager is a small, light, portable aid that can trim frustrating minutes off setup time
when you just want to hit the water and fly.

Image
Better still, in tight confines such as at crowded launches and off of boats, the Line Manager can really make
a difference in rapid setup less major complications with annoying line tangles.

Image
The design is simplicity itself.

Image
Say you have just landed for the day. You well anchored your kite with sand and have detached to lines
from one side of the kite. Next you mount the Line Manager near the center of your bar to wrap up
your flight lines.

Image
Gather the lines into a "vee" shape and wind the kite lines in a tidy "figure 8" over the ends of
the bar and Line Manager.

A video that depicts the process appears HERE

Image
Wrap up the line until you have about 3 ft. remaining.

Image
Make sure the kite trailing edge lines are on the outside and the leading edge lines are on the inside as
you pull the lines into the groves on the white plastic "nose" of the Line Manager. Avoid line crossover,
this step is an important one.

Image
Finishing wrapping up the lines in a "figure 8" over the bar and Line Manager and you're done.
You have also preloaded your next session with a faster less tangle prone setup.

Image
Ship shape and good to go!

Ready to setup for the next session? Simply unwrap sufficient line to be able to attach your lines to your well
anchored kite (Kook Proof Connectors are a great idea), pull the lines out of the grooves in the "nose" and
unwrap the rest of your lines. Be sure to preflight your lines, kite, etc. before launching.

Looks like the turbo launcher which was a flop on the market. Same company also? NO THANKS

No, it's simple! Just walk out the lines and set up the kite, then re-wind the lines carefully back up, then hold the turbo launcher in place so it doesnt fall off while wrapping morelines around it to hold it in place. Then set up the kite on the water so you dont get your head ripped off when the lines dont come off as expected and slowly control the kite as the wind pulls channels of blood from your hands from the tension of the wind on the lines as the kite smoothly drifts downwind and tumbles intomore knots. Then with the patented turbo launcher, simply get the kite untangled somehow and take your hands off the control bar so you can find a way to conveniently stick the turbo launcher in your wetsuit so it doesnt get lost.

as easy as 123456789 bang!

Sounds a serious drift launching scenario. Did you prewind at least one wingspan length of lines from one side of the kite on to the Turbolauncher first before trying to deploy it? In strong wind I am not sure if that would diminish the kite power enough to want to deal with lines by hand even with a depowered kite. Drift launching can create some special problems regardless of the gear being used.

In the case of just laying out lines straight down from the bar in confined conditions without a moving kite. How did that work?

Just never disconnect your lines. It worked fine for me all summer long as I always used the same kite ...

ricki,
The instructions look confusing. I have not looked at the video but just reading the procedures is making me dizzy. My vote is the same at the other posters above me.

I saw this a while back and it works. It's cheaper. And as far as i can tell, can be easily explained in one sentence.

Another guy had made one that was nicer looking, and you could wear it while on the water.
