Has anyone tried this kite yet. On another forum (kiteforum.com), the 11m is getting good reviews, but are they reviews that are biased like the latest Best Hellfish fiasco?

I would not give the initial reviews from the inner circle a lot of weight, with any kite. After a few users and a couple of month of use you will probably be able to get some more realistic opinions.

The bar on this kite seemed pretty weird from the descriptions, like you constantly have to hold it or the kite gets into safety mode (which means landing). I would like to see a few pictures of it. Seems that with flat kites they figured out the kites quicker than the bars.

I have to say that from an engineering point of view the pulley system seems like a great design that can carry the load under varying angle of attack with little moment.

Yea, I read that review as well. It sounds pretty good. I did a google search for this kite and saw that they are already selling them in Australia for $1,026 USD! So it will be significantly cheaper than the Crossbow.

I'm sure we'll get some more reivews in the coming months. Also interested in learning more about the WW Rapture2.

Litewave Dave should be around soon with a 11m in the Bayarea/Delta/Folsom. I talked to him last month and he said Late September/early Oct. he'd be demoing it.

Then all we need is some wind to try it.

I thought one of the selling poitns of the bow kites is that if you let go of the bar, the kite depowers "automatically". For alot of beginner kiters this is the ultimate safety mechanism, and after seeing more than a few accidents, I think it's not a bad idea even for more advanced kiters. The trick would be to figure out a way to bypass it if you felt you needed to.

Did anyone brave the lightning in the Delta yesterday to catch the breeze?

Tell Dave to bring a 17M Sonic. I went out today at SI on my 17 Outrage and had fun mowing the lawn.

Maybe this weekend the wind will come up a bit...14M anyone?

I don't think he has a 17m. Only the 11m.

Maybe he'll be down at SI today... It's blowing hard down there right now. Gotta try to get out of here. It might be my last chance to use my 10 this year. The weekend doesn look nearly as good.
